About Us

Kim and her experienced stylists have been working in the industry for over 25 years, offering a wide variety of services such as haircuts, styling, color and highlights. The salon now has a new home in Bordentown City, where clients and families can receive professional services in a relaxed and feel-at-home environment.

The Basement Salon was originally established by local hairstylist Kim Elkington. Kim desired to create a business where her young sons can be with her while she worked, as one of them has autism and Type 1 diabetes.

Kim: “I was involved with some stay-at-home moms who loved the idea of being able to get their hair done and bring their children to play. In my first location, I was located in the basement of a building, giving my clients the feel of a homey environment where everyone could relax. I feel like my new location in Bordentown still has that same feel and am excited to become a part of the community!”
